Space Week - Thursday

A huge thanks to Mr & Mrs Pratt for delivering an exciting assembly about the science behind our Rocket Launch today. As we pump air through the water the pressure inside the bottle builds up until the force of the air pushing on the water is enough to launch! The whole school have had a very exciting morning testing out the rockets we made in class yesterday to see who's flew the highest!

Space Week - Wednesday

Each class is thoroughly enjoyed a telescope experience brought to us by one of our lovely parents, Mr Wright!

Space Week - Tuesday

Polestar Planetarium is in the building! Children are loving the 360° immersive multi-media theatre experience. As we journey through space, we will explore areas such as the solar system, the constellations & life on the space station

It's Class Photograph day here at St Joseph's. We are loving posing and smiling for Tempest Photogrpahy - here are a couple of behind the scenes snapshots!

Year 5 Handball Tournament

On Thursday, Year 5 took part in a handball competition at Prince Henry's Grammar school. We competed against two other local schools. The event was organised and run by the sixth form sports coaches and followed on from the lessons last half term by Mrs Fenton Green from PHGS.

We really enjoyed the competition and played lots of different games. Some of us found the games were highly competitive, others thought they were less so and just enjoyed playing against other children.

Welcome Back!

Happy New year to everyone and we hope 2018 will be prosperous for all.

The children (and staff) have come back refreshed after the holidays and ready to tackle the challenges the year may hold. It has been wonderful to share the stories, family times and news from Christmas. Positive behaviour and good manners have shone through in the first two days and bode well for the future. Well done and keep it up!

Keep an eye on the website for upcoming events this year.

Anti-Bullying Week

This week is national Anti-Bullying Week. During Friday's assembly, Year 3 discussed strategies to deal with bullying and explained how we should celebrate our differences. We created a jigsaw to show how we are all individual but fit together as a school community.
