On Thursday 10th October we had our first Class Mass of the year.  As it is October, the month of the Rosary, our theme was Mary.  All the children read, sang and took part beautifully.

In Literacy, we have enjoyed reading "The Spiderwick Chronicles".  We have used drama to predict how different characters will react to meeting a 'boggart'.

Topic Weeks

Animals & Nature - April 2014

During this week we enjoyed seeing the animals from Sam's Safari.

Otley Week - November 2013

All the class really enjoyed our topic week on Otley. During the week we took a walk around our town trying to find evidence of the jobs people did in the 18th and 19th centuries. We all got very muddy trying to read the gravestones in the parish churchyard. Some of the jobs were similar to those found in Otley today but some, such as tallow candlemaker, harness maker, tinner and tea procurer were really different.

We are planning to have many exciting activities during this academic year.  Below are some photos of what we got up to last year in Year 4!!!

Spring term saw us looking at various aspects of chocolate for our IPC topic. During our exit point the class was split into teams to design and present a chocolate product that may be a best seller in the future. We hope you will enjoy looking at a couple of our presentations.
