Welcome to Reception’s Class Page

2021–22

Welcome to Reception’s class page. We have 29 wonderful children in our class. Mrs Dalton is the class teacher and Mrs Hart and Mrs Deyes are the class assistants.

On this web page you will see highlights of some of the exciting things we will be doing throughout the year. You will also find some useful links to key documents to support your child’s learning at home.

International Day Of The Forest

As part of our special topic week based around Climate Change, we focused on the importance of trees for our environment. To celebrate the day, we all came dressed in green. We learnt about why we need trees and what deforestation is doing to our planet. In the afternoon, we had a go at tree hugging. We all felt very happy and calm when we had finished.

On Monday, we were all so excited to open our new EYFS outside area! A big thanks to Mr Ed for all his time and effort making it. We are really looking forward to playing outside this summer!

Spring 2- People Who Help Us

This week, we had a visit from Dr Knaggs. She brought her Doctor bag and showed us all the equipment she uses when she is seeing patients. We loved asking lots of questions to find out more about her role.

On Thursday, we had a super visit from Mrs Thompson who is a Veterinary Nurse. We were very lucky that she also brought along her dog 'Moo'. We learnt about the role of a Vet and how they care for animals. We loved watching Moo having her teeth brushed!

We are looking forward to some special visitors in school to help us develop an understanding of the role of the different people that help us such as Doctors, Nurses and Vets. We are also looking forward to a visit to the local Library.

In RE, our new topic is ‘Sorrow and Joy.’ We be learning all about the Easter story in the coming weeks.

World Book Day

We had a super time on World Book Day! To mark the day, we all dressed as a word. There was some really imaginative costumes and we all looked super. We had a fantastic day enjoying lots of stories, having a visit from an author and reading with our buddies.
